Venue
Teatro Arriaga is located in Bilbao, capital of Basque Country. Our neo-baroquian venue was built by the architect Joaquín de Rucoba at the end of the 19th Century. This building is dedicated to Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, a composer from Bilbao, who was called ‘’The Spanish Mozart’’. It was inaugurated on May 31st 1890.
It’s one of the main theaters of Bilbao and also one of the best buildings of the city. Some changes have been made by rebuilding and remodeling due to the fire of 1914 and floods of 1983.
This venue has more than 130 years of history where different events such as musical performances have taken place.
The theater has an information office, a ticket office, cloak room and technical equipment available. It also has stage equipment, including sound and lighting, available.
